The Clandestine Dinner Party: Speakeasy Inspired

One extension of our business that we’ve recently added is an invitation only supper club we call the Clandestine Dinner Party. This past Saturday, we hosted a Speakeasy inspired theme for our supper club with Chef Tres Barnard as our esteemed chef. Tres has a pop up at Marie’s Bar on Burgundy every Friday that he calls ‘We’ve Got Soul‘. His focus is soul food with all locally sourced ingredients that he selects by farmer’s market shopping each week – thus, the menu changes weekly. Tres put together a 5 course meal based on the Speakeasy theme and Gerrit Lansing, our mixologist, paired each course with his liquor selection. We also had the Drunken Catfish Ramblers, who entertained us.

With 40 people in attendance, we had a lot on the line – if we didn’t deliver, our humble event would end up dead on arrival. Luckily, the stars aligned and everything went perfectly. The only minor snafu was a handful of folks who all appeared to have been hit with the flu at the same time that week so we had a few folks who were under the weather – but committed themselves to not missing our event, including yours truly. Other than that, the weather, ambiance, crowd, food, liquor, entertainment, and location were all absolutely perfect.
